A quick post to let you all know I will be speaking at a conference this winter

This post offers details on a conference I will be contributing to as a speaker this winter

I would like to officially announce that I have been invited to be a speaker at 2024's R-Future conference!

R-Future is a conference that is about exploring viable, practical and scalable solutions to the challenges we face as individuals (and communities). The part which resonates so deeply with me however, is not just that it is solutions based, but rather that it is about exploring solutions that empower individuals and communities while also giving back to the Earth at the same time.

All of those who love and cherish the living earth (and our non-human family that we share this beautiful world with) certainly face our share of challenges in this time of widespread corporate totalitarianism, but there is hope and inspiration to be found in decentralizing our regenerative efforts and creating pockets of resistance that align our energy with the living wisdom and regenerative capacity of the living Earth.

When we look around ourselves today at world events it is easy to fall into feeling helpless and defeated.

Do not despair my friends!

We will peacefully and joyfully resist the oppression of their crumbing empire through creating regenerative oasis's in each of the communities where we live. We will accomplish this through planting regenerative gardens, creating regenerative businesses (that offer outreach programs to help the young and vulnerable in our communities find their footing) setting up "Food is Free Project(s)", “Grow Free” movements, "seeds are free projects", helping each other through challenging times through compassion, kindness, understanding, love, symbiosis and moral courage.

We will show the oligarchs that we can thrive and exist in peaceful symbiosis with Mother Earth, each other and our fellow non-human beings without their corporations and corrupt degenerative government systems.

We will create such abundance and emergent resilience that it will spill over into the neighborhoods and communities around us, sending ripples out that shift the tide from fear to hope and render their toxic centralized systems of dependence and oppression obsolete leading to a day when we leave their systems behind forever.

We are the ones we have been waiting for.

This year I will have the opportunity to speak 'along side' learned and innovative human beings such as Stephen Raisner, William Padilla-Brown, Chris Trump, Zach Weiss, Andrew Millison, David Poplin, Raleigh Latham, Keisha Ernst, Vincent Zaldivar (Coco Vinny ), Alan Booker, Michael Wittman and Matthew Trumm (among others). Each one of those people (and the others I did not list and who have yet to be announced) are leading the way in each of their communities in this regard (and each have their own specialized knowledge and unique perspectives to offer).

The conference is also about dynamic interaction and cross pollination of ideas, perspectives and worldviews, so there will be live Q&A sessions and a private social network available to those who sign up to watch it in order to facilitate further, discussion, brainstorming and collaboration among both speakers and the viewing participants.

What better way to start off 2024 than to be part of a convergence of permaculture experts, regenerative entrepreneurs, seed savers, food fermenters, regenerative gardeners, mycophiles, scientists, cultivators, philosophers, culinary creators as well as a whole diverse community of passionate and good hearted people envisioning pathways towards a more hopeful future. In this conference many will be offering their own solutions and actionable intelligence which can empower us all to take on the biggest challenges facing our society, our species and the biosphere.

In a past post I said If we are going to choose to continue to use the conventional money system (for as long as such a thing continues to exist/function) and yet place using our energy, time, free will and resources which are at our disposal to create a better world for those who call this place home after we are gone as a high priority, than we need to take steps to stop funding degenerative systems and the construction of our own prison. Well as Matt Powers has said in the past "There ARE Ways Out of the Matrix" and the knowledge and connections you can gather from a conference like this can open pathways to several potential ‘matrix exit strategies’.

Taking the step to stop financing the transnational racketeering operation that is decimating our biosphere, human health and attempting to take away the human rights of billions (through their consortium of corporations and subservient governments of nation states) means removing our support from systems which are literally attempting to put in place a new type of slavery system. It is time we took decisive action to stop paying for our own prison to be built.

Whether it is through starting up a regenerative business that serves to rejuvenate, revitalize and re-connect your local community, keeping the resources and hard work flowing within circles of syntrophy in your local area or through taking steps to grow some of your own veggies, fruit, greens, herbs, fungi and preserve your own nutrient dense food and/or medicine these are both pathways for removing our support from the plutocratic racketeering operation that is running our industrialized, AI dominated, degenerative society and instead putting our energy towards planting the seeds for a brighter future.

I found the material presented by the speakers last year to be extremely enriching, thought provoking, hopeful, inspirational and practical. The speakers are comprised of a wide range of experts (from permaculture and mycological entrepreneurs, to chefs, writers, film makers and more) that offer insights and share their stories so we can all find our footing and work towards a regenerative future together.
