Invest in a liquorice plant as it treats hayfever and asthma just from its scent, a few minutes spent breathing in the plants aroma stops the coughing and sneezing of hayfever.

Thanks for the info. Have you ever tried working with Anise Hyssop?

https://gavinmounsey.substack.com/p/agastache-foeniculum-aka-anise-hyssop?

It has a licoricey flavor and some great medicinal effects as well.

I also like Stinging Nettle and Five Flavor Fruit for allergies.

You’re welcome be mindful of where you plant it as liquorice grows on river embankments in the wild, it suffers in direct sun and extreme heat so pick a place with semi shade for it and it will be fine as the old gentleman who educated me about it and it works.

I’m in the uk so shall look up the information you’ve so kindly shared.

Excellent work Gavin, thank you, going to share this on my WP blog. I started fermenting veggies/herbs a few years ago, before that started kombucha and sourdough--absolutely LOVE IT! It’s addicting and we feel great in our mid 50s, even after I’d grown up on processed foods and have chronic allergies since childhood (vaccine damage I now believe).

Thanks, I appreciate you taking the time to read what I put together, your thoughtful comment and your willingness to share it. Can you share a link to your WP blog?

That is so great you are into fermenting. Have you ever tried making sourdough pizza dough? Doing thin crust homemade sourdough pizza with minimalist ingredients (like oven roasted cherry tomatoes with herbs, arugula, fermented bell pepper slices and goat cheese) is one of our favs.

Thanks for the comment! :)

Absolutely my pleasure, and thanks for your interest! I make the sourdough pizza crust every week, it’s a fav around here. The goat cheese is so good on it, I make many varieties, it’s my fav hobby and I’ve gotten quite good at it, if I don’t say so myself. Pizza can be fast food without being junk food. I’m going to buy your book for sure. But I learned from 2 great books--Veggies from the Shockey book and cheese from David Asher, I expect you know them both, non-industrial methods, awesome books, and yours will be a great addition to the mix. Your blog is excellent! I totally forgot that I had subscribed to your blog a long time ago (after I briefly commented back and forth with you on the Corbett Report, if I remember correctly) but it seems that the Microsoft outlook/hotmail A.I. gremlins have been up to some mischief labelling your WP blog emails to my WP email account as junk. I am going to try and figure out how I can re-subscribe with my newer proton email account and see if that helps your excellent WP blogs posts to get past the downlisting/shadow banning algos and into my inbox :)

Here I am going on about our homemade sourdough pizza with goat cheese and you have actual goats and make cheese from scratch! :) I admire all that you guys are doing on your homestead to take responsibility for producing and preserving the food you want to eat. Having goats is a dream of mine. Once we move to a larger property it will be high on the priority list.

Thanks for the book suggestions and thank you very much for ordering two copies of my book! I will throw in some extra heirloom seed varieties from my personal collection which will appreciate the heat where you guys live.

Thanks for sharing part of my essay on your website and linking my book! I look forward to catching up on all the awesome Funny Friday material you have shared and I look forward to hearing what you think of my book once you have a chance to dig in.
