I love fresh bakes pumpkin seeds. they are also anti parasitic. Pumpkin is also good for dogs. you could mix some cooked meat with pumpkin and have some healthy food for your pets. save it in the freezer for all year round. Squirrels, Deer love it.
I just roasted some up earlier this evening, coconut oil, a touch of maple sugar, cinnamon, chili powder, black pepper and dried sumac berries. So tasty!
Yes thanks for mentioning the anti-parasitic thing, it is one of the reasons I eat them raw at work almost daily (besides their excellent protein content).
Great idea regarding the pet food! Our elder (9 year old) four legged friend Jasper (a great dane) loves to eat quinoa/amaranth with sweet potatoes and a bit a coconut oil (I discovered this as I was making myself some for a side for work and he asked if he could have some and ate it more happily than when he eats the organic salmon or chicken based dogfood we buy him). I think pumpkin would make a great addition or sweet potato substitute. Great for me for lunch and as a meal supplement for our horse sized canine friend :)
Excellent. Keep up the good work. Best wishes.
