This article shares a recipe from my upcoming book, information on the "Three Sisters" companion planting system and a prophecy offered to us by those who are indigenous to Turtle Island
Thanks Nancy! :) I am glad you appreciate the recipes. Perhaps you can get some of the ingredients from a local organic farmer or a friend's garden and make your own version of it this summer.
Much as I love Staghorn Sumac recipes and Three Sisters garden layouts, it was the Seventh Fire Prophecy and Seventh Generation philosophy that really touched me. Hope.

Thank you for your response, Tereza.
Yes, Gavin is quite an amazing writer and trust me, an excellent chef. Although we usually share the responsibility of making dinners it is always a treat when he is in the kitchen creating one of his delicious meals.
Robin Kimmerer is a wise and moving speaker, indeed. Although she has yet to take my breath away, there have been several times when what she says, moves me to tears. I find Robin to be very connected to her heart and to the understanding of those who came before... those who walked hand in hand with nature and better understood the language of Mother Earth.
As for hope, yes, people like Robin seem to know that hope lives in our hearts and that we can live with hope more easily when we walk this path using our hearts as our compass. ❤️
Thank you, Gavin. I loved this. The recipe looks delicious and, well, listening to Robin made me cry. I know it's important not to lose hope, and I always say that I dream of drinking from a river again, but it sure is hard some days seeing what is being done to this beautiful planet. xo
Thanks for reading! Yes, I actually had some tears listening to that video as well. Robin really has a beautiful spirit, a crystal clear honesty and a very empathically stirring way of expressing herself. She seems to invoke emotion and a caring for our Mother Earth in even the most seemingly stoic individuals in my experience (especially males).
I feel your pain and know what you mean. Thank you for holding onto love in your heart and hope for our Mother Earth. I will hold that hopeful vision of a day when we can drink from the rivers and steams again with you my friend, and plant the seeds in the ground and in hearts to help bring it to fruition.
Thank you for the heartfelt comment. May all that you hold in your heart and wish for our fellow beings be gifted back into you ten fold in the years ahead. <3
Sharing with my three daughters. Thank you.
Lovely article. If only I had more land and were younger. The recipes make my mouth water.

I appreciate the thoughtful comment.
Beautiful, Gavin! Really breathtaking.
Thanks! I agree, I found Robin's sharing of the 7th fire prophecy to be very moving as well.
Which part takes your breath away, Tereza?

Now, you're making me tear up, Gavin! Like the flowing rivers. There are so many like us thinking and feeling the same. Gives me hope! xo
