The third one, about oligarchs... Explanation for "none of the above," I mean that we would do well to stop the process by which anyone becomes an "oligarch." We would do far better to treat people as equals, to ensure that everyone has basic needs covered, and even beyond that, a good life, which would necessitate ending a system by which SO MANY struggle just for the most basic of life's needs, and a very, very, VERY small percentage are allowed to accumulate so much wealth as to beggar belief, quite literally. We have long been trained to accept this insane and ugly reality in various ways, such as "playing fair" (which doesn't happen anyway), and leaving open the possibility for ANYONE to become outrageously wealthy (happens so rarely that it's a joke), and all the rest of the RULES determined by those who are already OLIGARCHS. I think it would behoove EVERYONE, including the vastly, filthy rich, to start learning about simple directives and decency, and stop all this hellish power mongering for wealth and privilege by making those things available to everyone.
I didn’t understand over-unity energy tech, or would have gone for that. All the other options were just distasteful to my mind. Any kind of mandate by any kind of government is just a not even veiled governance of coercion, and I think coercion of any kind is just about one of the greatest evils - whether “governing” or raising children or trying to have a happy marriage. I am actually not keen on “incentivization” either. It’s just slightly differently framed coercion and I’m not into punishment/reward cycles. All this leaves some interesting things to ponder about the nature of politics and government….. we’re all Better off in the garden or the forest, really. Hegemony free. Hedges being nicer than hegemony. Sorry that was lame. 🤣
To be better calibrated, or aware of your place within the other living beings around you, with the natural world and the self (they are one and the same) as it is a relationship, of course, will improve so many things, on every level. they will be fully capable of good choices, all we have to do is give them the space and time to grow. protect them from those who would thwart their agency.
humans, need to be calibrated in early infancy and childhood to nature and reality, or, they just loose agency. they doubt their own judgement and abilities, need to be told what to do and how. this is a strike against liberty that cannot be overcome in that generation. the farther away from reality and nature you get, the more easily corrupted and delusional.
i agree they are not mechanical devices. they are biological energy beings, with a long development arc. If they are not in a habit of constantly testing reality to what their mental understanding of life is, they will not be confident in their own minds, worldview can be warped, even so bad as to be unable to see what is right in front of them, by the framing and worldview filter they are given early. children, and i am a mom of grown men, need outside, need acceptable risk.
The last survey, I think it'll be more long lasting and eventually more effective, as people relearn to act ethically, with deep love and respect towards all of creation. Ethically=ten commandments at minimum, and never out of greed.
I voted for “abolish involuntary government” because of all the options, I think that would have the broadest impact, and would make many of the other options more likely to happen. But the question for me is, how would that abolition happen? I think it requires a shift of consciousness on the part of a large number of people for such a thing to occur. That — a change in consciousness — is what I think is the fundamental change that needs to happen. And I think there is some evidence that this is actually starting to happen.
I chose "none of the above (plz explain)". While there is apossibility that many will disagree and may even be irate, my beliefs are my beliefs and i will always speak my truth.
I believe that the most beneficial thing we could do is form a personal relationship with God and Mother Earth... a real and active relationship, not like religions, not like new age, not like the current environmentalists and institutions claiming sustainability bcuz they all teach a separation from or believe they are God and the current environmentalists and such at their best focus on particular ecosystems or certain wildlife and do not show an understanding that everything that God and Mother Earth brought forth are integral parts of the whole and deserve respect, compassion and kindness.
Good point, the two are very intertwined. As is explored in videos like this: https://rumble.com/embed/v2jseby/ and documentaries like this: https://corbettreport.com/federalreserve/ many of the most brutal wars engaged in by statist regimes throughout history were really just situations where the central banking cartel was using the US military/NATO as the enforcement arm for their racketeering operation (forcing non-compliant nation states to use the petro-dollar and borrow from the BIS, pushing them into debt slavery when they started becoming more independent).
Wow man I am happy for you ! 97 acres!! That is fantastic! :) I am honored you would think of me with regards to caring for the forest. I would love to see some pics some time.
I have those Red Current berries in the fridge for extracting seeds to send to you by the way. Since the information I am finding in conventional seed saving books is sketchy, lacking and/or conflicted with regards to red currents specifically I was thinking I would try two different methods to maximize your chances of germination success (while simultaneously testing out if treating them as Recalcitrant is a better way to go if you don't mind helping me experiment a bit for my next book? :) ). So i`ll send some seeds kept fresh in a damp paper towel and some dried (as most books and online sources suggest). Since Serviceberry seeds seem to benefit from being treated as Recalcitrant vs being dried out (as many conventional seed saving books suggest) I speculate this may also be the case with current seeds. I`ll let you know once they are in the mail.
In that case, I`ll package up at least 20 dried seeds and 20 fresh seeds and I would suggest attempting to plant half of each immediately and then reserving the remainder in the fridge (to simulate winter conditions incase stratification is required).
Nice work with the Goji seedlings. That variety I sent you has the potential for each plant to live as long as grape vines (sometimes longer than a typical human lifespan).
RE: "would they like Canadian Shield?" Well that would depend on how far north it is as the shield goes way the heck up where the polar bears dwell and in that kind of region one would have to bring the pots into a garage or shed in the winter in pots.
Can you share a name of a town that has an equivalent latitude to the 97 acres so I can see what kind of growing zone we are talking?
I look forward to seeing those pics, what a blessing to be embarking on an adventure to get to know many elder rooted beings and embrace a role as steward of a forest.
There is a maple tree wider than my armspan. I'm on the large side. I'll see what the Algonquins say about getting to know it. There will be more that I haven't come across.
Problem with one choice polls is that there may be more than one answer :)
Great idea though to start a creative options conversation!
Thanks too! Because I just today received your beautiful book! (plus the bonus packs ;)
my friend is a natural dye of wool she creates from raw sheered wool to dyed finished products - I will gift her the Hopi Amaranth seeds I'm sure she will enjoy those!
I can relate to your feeling frustrated and/or limited via one choice polls, though, just to be clear, I was not actually implying that one of the options alone in the polls could actually solve all the world's problems (nor were all of the poll options things that I myself would actually endorse or see as beneficial in the bigger picture). The reason behind the choose one was to offer an opportunity for people to see where their thoughts and perspectives are (to hold a candle up to the mirror, so to speak) with regards to what they feel is the most pressing matter on Earth right now (either that which is the most detrimental aspect and/or that which has the most potential to do good). The intent is for people to be able to look within themselves and also be given an opportunity to see the perspectives and inner workings of fellow travellers on this journey called life on Earth.
Thanks for letting me know the book and seeds arrived safe and sound, I love the idea of someone that works with natural dyes being able to create with the seeds (though incase you thought that variety is only for coloring cloth, here is a link to an article that shows some delicious and nutritious recipes you can also make with the Hopi Red Amarnath leaves and seeds: https://gavinmounsey.substack.com/p/amazing-amaranth
Abolish Central Banks, and it's not close.
As long as they can print money at no cost, the will continue plundering the wealth and health of productive people.
Luckily something has been introduced by a sly roundabout way that they cannot stop. Central Bank days are numbered.

I like this comment a lot, it aligns with many of my thoughts on the nature of the poll options above.
The last part of your comment made me think of fiveleaf aralia (Eleutherococcus sieboldianus) ( for more info : https://pfaf.org/User/Plant.aspx?LatinName=Eleutherococcus+sieboldianus#:~:text=Edible%20Uses&text=Young%20leaves%20%2D%20cooked%5B46%2C,a%20tea%20substitute%5B183%5D. ) which my friend Kyle Dougherty in the States made a hedge out of it for privacy (which he also prunes to make salad !) :)
I`ll be back to share more in depth thoughts on your comment (and others in this thread) as time allows.
Thanks for engaging and sharing your levity with us all.
No, not at all lame. Lovely, actually.

"Calibrated"? Human beings are not machines!
But I do agree with your last sentence, completely.

Well said. :)

I think so, too.
me as well, return to natural law and spirituality which comes with codes of conduct based in highest morality and good will...
there are many who are shifting I feel this is possible and we will enter into a new renaissance...
Yes, I think so, too.
I chose "none of the above (plz explain)". While there is apossibility that many will disagree and may even be irate, my beliefs are my beliefs and i will always speak my truth.

I'm assuming that if we abolish governments we're getting rid of central banks in the same operation.
Actually, I'm afraid I have to insist.
Just sealed the deal on 97 acres of mixed virgin forest, no improvements. I will care for it as if Gavin were looking over my shoulder.
Don't be afraid to insist! LOL I'm right there, too.

Yeah, all that and tons more. All you need to know is that the sole function, the dedicated purpose of a central bank is to rip us off.
I would be honoured to help you with your experiments. 'speriments-r-us.
I have three Goji berry plants started, would they like Canadian Shield? They're in pots.
I'll take some pics when I go up to plan the road(s). There aren't any.
I suppose it rates an article, I'm not very prolific in that area.
Excellent!

Thanks for the comment.
Cheerio, Does something stop you from voting twice or if you don't like breaking the rules, making your second option noted in these comments?
darn! the poll 'recognized' me :)
haha, I'll try!
And there might be an answer that should be there but is not.
Isn't that what the "none of the above" is for? I am fairly sure that Gavin intended for it to be chosen if you want a different answer.
And that's where the Comment Section comes in. :)
