A gift economy...requires quite a mind shift...but it seems to be the case that such a shift is the necessary strategy. We have spent far too long 'competing', it should be clear by now to many that this modus operandi does not work in the long run, or another way of viewing this, is the lesson now needs to be learned, as it has run its course.

Are you on twitter Gavin?

I just shared this great essay there.

I was, but when the censorship drag nets started (and I refused to use code words or pretend I was on board with the covid 1984 tyranny) they banned me. I am on facebook (for now) https://www.facebook.com/gavin.gardens.1 but they keep suspending and restricting my account there for similar reasons, so I am not sure how long that will last. Substack is my last bastion of honest expression (for now).

Thanks for sharing my essay. Perhaps we can do a seed swap some day and add some diversity to each other's collections? :)

Thank you Gavin for laying out the reciprocal and ecological foundation for our way forward to a partnership with our earth mother. She yearns for our healthy growth and support of one another, in all our life forms and incarnations. She is here to abundantly provide and give us the good life. May we whose this path you have so beautifully illustrated.

Thank you very much for your kind, eloquent and insightful comment Annie. I cannot take credit for discovering the path above, though there were always intuitive knowings present in my heart and mind relating to these concepts I was only able to see such a path forward clearly by standing on the shoulders of those authors that pioneered and articulated this way of seeing, interacting with our fellow beings and living on the Earth. I found the works of people like Robin Wall Kimmerer, Charles Eisenstein, Diana Beresford-Kroeger, Matt Powers and Vandana Shiva to be instrumental in my endeavors to chart a course and trail blaze my own path forward (and in a way that honors all the gifts we are given by our Earth Mother and honors those that have yet to be born on the Earth). Wishing you many bountiful harvests and peaceful moments in the garden.
