Another Step On My Path Of Perpetual Learning As An Apprentice Of Mother Earth
I received my Advanced Permaculture Design Certification today!
Today is an auspicious day! Today I received my Advanced Permaculture Design Certificate. This is the culmination of 5 years of research, experimentation, trial and error, blood, sweat, tears, joy, seed saving/sharing, perseverance, honing skills, creating food as medicine, finding medicine in the moment, cultivation/exploring (internally and externally) and reciprocity.
Having my project and certification completed as a reality feels fulfilling, it feels empowering, heartening and provides a feeling that is like having a solid foundation to stand on which I can build upon. I have gleaned wisdom from many of my peers in the APSO (The Advanced Permaculture Student Online ) course, learned so much in the garden, kitchen, forest and now being able to synthesize all that in combination with the immense amount of knowledge, helpful techniques and perspectives that were offered in the APSO course material. Now I feel ready to embark on a path to give back to my community, the Earth and publish future books that will help others to be able to do the same.
The book creation (self-publishing) process had it's ups and downs emotionally but now that I have been getting more and more positive feedback from people all over the globe (many of those people having now planted and harvested/saved seed from the heirloom seeds I sent them along side the book) it feels as though it is onward and upward from here.
Many people who now have a copy of my book have written me to thank me for the empowering info I put together and to share their plans for community gardens, community food forests, school gardens and seed libraries, this fills my heart with joy and hope for the future. The experience reminds me that if we choose to embark upon a path with the permaculture ethical compass of People Care-Earth Care-Future Care guiding us we are aligned with forces beyond the sphere of influence of the corporatocracy. When we align our will and way with the will and way of the living Earth we are aligning our way with the way of the Satyagrahi.
Here is the video that I created wayyyy back as I began to put together my book:
The certification offers particularly gratifying sense of accomplishment and peace of mind for I know it is not just a 'notch on the belt' but rather embodies a process of learning that has enriched my mind, enhanced my garden and will continue to do so going forward.
It is a sturdy stepping stone on the path towards a more Regenerative Future. Each heirloom seed you save, share and cultivate, each time you use food as medicine and each regenerative garden you plant is adding your energy to an unstoppable movement that will peacefully dissolve corrupt institutions, 'composting' them in place and allowing space for something new to grow. In doing so, we are leaving this world a little bit more honest, equitable, abundant and beautiful than it was when we got here.
I want to thank all of you who are walking this path along side of me! Together we will chart a path towards a Regenerative Future.
For anyone interested in getting a copy of my book (Recipes For Reciprocity: The Regenerative Way From Seed To Table) incase you missed it I currently have a big holiday sale (which ends Christmas eve) going for both physical and digital copies of the book.
